About the Author
Hi, I'm Beth Childs
A writer, advocate, and someone who's been living with vitiligo since 2009.
I was diagnosed with vitiligo in 2009. Like most people, I spent the first year in dermatologist offices getting vague answers and prescriptions that didn't do much. I became obsessed with understanding the condition - reading clinical studies, trying every treatment I could, and connecting with others going through the same thing.
I created VitiligoTreatmentInfo.com because I couldn't find a single website that combined honest personal experience with actual research. Most sites either sell you something or repeat outdated clinical summaries. I wanted something different: a place where someone newly diagnosed could understand their real options, backed by evidence and tempered by the reality of living with vitiligo day to day.
What the evidence supports
After years of research and connecting with the vitiligo community, the protocol backed by the strongest evidence is: narrowband UVB phototherapy 3x per week (at home or clinic), topical tacrolimus or a JAK inhibitor for facial and body patches, and consistent broad-spectrum sun protection. This combination approach consistently outperforms any single treatment in clinical studies.
What this site is - and isn't
I'm not a doctor. Nothing on this site is medical advice. What I am is someone who has read hundreds of clinical papers and talked to a lot of dermatologists and fellow vitiligo patients. I try to give you the honest version of what the evidence says, including where it's weak, contradictory, or inconclusive.
Some links on this site are affiliate links - if you buy something through them, I earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. I only link to products that have been thoroughly researched for quality, safety, and evidence of effectiveness for vitiligo patients.

Best next step
If you're new here, I would start with the path that matches what you need most right now:
- Get the free treatment guide if you want a calmer overview of what usually helps.
- Read the UV lamp review if you're specifically comparing home phototherapy options.
- Use the Start Here page if you're not sure whether you need education, treatment information, or product help first.
